Importance of Multilateral Action
Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the significance of collective, multilateral efforts in responding to the ongoing and unprecedented crisis in the Middle East. He emphasized the urgent need to protect civilians from the crisis’s repercussions, establish secure humanitarian corridors for delivering vital relief and medical aid, and enable relief organizations to fulfill their responsibilities to civilians.
Confronting Extremism and Violence: GCC
Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that the current crisis underscores the enduring dangers of extremism, violence, and hatred to the region’s security and stability. He called for unwavering determination to confront this menace, calm the situation, and quell escalating tension and violence, thereby restoring the region’s security, stability, and the hopes of its people for a secure, prosperous future.
Support for Palestinian State: GCC
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s longstanding support for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Aim of the Extraordinary Session: GCC
This extraordinary session of the GCC Ministerial Council was convened at Oman’s request, the current Chair of the GCC, following consultation and coordination with member states to deliberate on the latest regional developments.
