Abu Dhabi: 400 students participate in ISC-UAE Youth Open Festival – News

Some 400 students are expected to attend the three-day ISC-UAE Open Youth Festival in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

D. Natarajan, Chairman of the Indian Society and Cultural Center (ISC) in Abu Dhabi, noted that the event is being organized after three years.

“This is a festival that helps showcase the artistic abilities of students living across the UAE,” he told a news conference.

Secretary General P. Sathyababu said the games will be held simultaneously at five different venues at the centre.

“We expect about 400 students from different schools and educational institutions to participate.”

The competition will be performed in different Indian dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, folkdance, semi-classical, and various forms of music such as Carnatic, Hindustani, light music, mono act, fancy dress, drawing, painting, etc. . exist.

Treasurer Limson K. Jacob said the competition will be divided into five age groups.

“There will be five categories: Junior (ages 3 to 6), Junior (ages 7 to 9), Junior (ages 10 to 12), Senior (ages 13 to 15) and Senior (ages 16 to 18) )”

In addition to prizes for the top three winners, the best emerging winners will be awarded the titles “ISC Prathibha 2023” and “ISC Thilak 2023”. In addition, there will be an award for “Best School of Indian Arts and Culture”, which will be awarded based on the total points obtained by the participants of each school.

Literary Secretary Deepak Kumar Dash looks forward to community members watching and encouraging students.

“This is a student competition festival that aims to represent the diverse cultures of the states in India.”

Private International English School vice-chairman Sooraj Ramachandran stressed that the event was an “important event” for students, especially in the wake of the pandemic.

Dr. Naveen Hood Ali, Director of Operations, Medeor and LLH Hospitals, and Hariprasad Karichery, Business Development Manager, Ahalia Hospital were also present at the press conference. The Private International English School, Medeor Hospital and Ahalia Hospital are supporters of the festival, which will be held from Friday to Sunday.
