Dubai: The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADDA) brings together multiple UAE government departments under one digital platform.
It creates an internal audit platform for official audits and audit data of various government entities in Abu Dhabi and defines guidelines for the organization and operation of internal audit units. These are based on a set of rules, including confidentiality of information, preparation of risk assessments, internal audit planning and adoption of internal audit strategies, etc.
The Authority aims to improve the quality of government operations by ensuring compliance with regulations governing the preservation of public funds and assets. “The platform will maintain a database of entities’ internal audit units, helping to improve the quality and efficiency of information relevant to these entities in terms of risk assessment results, monitoring their compliance with the audit rules issued by the Authority,” an ADAA spokesperson said.
The platform enables the internal audit department of the subject entity to enter data and upload supporting documents. ADAA’s Audit and Monitoring Division then reviews the data and communicates with these units in case of any questions or clarifications, and prepares the entity’s database of audit units.
