Abu Dhabi Airports, Abu Dhabi University support aviation talent

Abu Dhabi Airports, operator of five airports in the UAE, has partnered with Abu Dhabi University to exchange expertise and encourage training and research projects to support aviation talent and industry development.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the agreement will see Abu Dhabi Airports provide employment opportunities and internships to Abu Dhabi University alumni for three years, in line with Abu Dhabi Airports’ commitment to recruiting local talent.

The partnership saw Abu Dhabi University join the ‘Asaas’ programme, Abu Dhabi Airports’ programme to attract, recruit and train young Emiratis interested in joining the aviation industry.

The agreement was finalized after Abu Dhabi University signed a memorandum of understanding.

Engineer Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Our partnership with leading educational institutions is a testament to our commitment to paving the way for a new generation of UAE airport management professionals and aviation leaders who have the knowledge and experience, will be able to sustain the growth and development of this important sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

“We are delighted to partner with Abu Dhabi University to sponsor a dedicated academic programme to equip selected candidates with the knowledge they need to excel in new career adventures. Our partnership with Abu Dhabi University represents a move towards This latest step in this direction, and we are equally excited about the many other mutually beneficial outcomes that this collaboration will yield.”

Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi University will share knowledge on airports, ground and flight operations, safety and security management, and environmental impacts.

Abu Dhabi Airport staff will participate in academic programmes offered by Abu Dhabi University, while both parties will enjoy other mutual benefits including access to technical facilities and participation in funding opportunities, applied training and research projects, and other educational platforms such as seminars, conferences and lectures.
