The Centre participates in one of the world’s largest book fairs through a range of cultural events to expand its presence in the international publishing market
Abu DhabiUnited Arab Emirates, October 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) will participate in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2022 as part of its mission to promote the publishing industry in the UAE.This year’s fair was held from October 19th to 23rd with the theme of ‘Words connect the world: translation. transfer. convert’.
ALC will participate in the Frankfurt Book Fair to expand its presence in promising international publishing markets and to promote the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) and other programs and events it organizes.
The center aims to strengthen strategic cooperation with German partners and explore the latest trends in the publishing world and creative industries.

ALC’s Frankfurt Book Fair agenda includes a range of cultural and literary events and a joint reception with Sheikh zayed book Award (SZBA). The awards have previously been announced for book fairs, where it will organize panel discussions including sessions on “From Cafes to the Internet: Arabic Literature in Transition” and “Developing the Book Business in the Arab World”. SZBA will also showcase its most recently translated books through the 2018 Translator Grant.
ALC will also launch a series of music books from the “Pioneers Among Us” series, in addition to hosting conferences on the book “Panel discussion and reading through German anthologies”and another panel discussion titled “Prospects for cooperation between the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair”.
To incorporate other cultural and tourism elements, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is also invited to participate in the pavilion, and its representatives will present information about the museum and its publications.
