The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center (ALC) is a part of the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) and will emphasize its important role in promoting cultural understanding and the promotion of Arabic at the Riyadh International Book Fair. Held in Saudi Arabia this month.

Participating in the Expo, which will be held at the Frontline Exhibition Center in Riyadh from October 1st to 10th, highlights ALC’s goal of supporting the regional publishing industry and promoting the development of Arabic. ALC has set up a special exhibition hall to promote its internal projects, display its own publications and hold a signing ceremony.

“We are very pleased to participate in the Riyadh International Book Fair, an extraordinary cultural event in the Saudi Arabian publishing industry, with a high reputation locally, regionally and globally,” said His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of ALC. Collaborating with publishers across the region is an important part of our promotion of the cultural development of the UAE, so we look forward to deepening these connections during the event schedule. “

During the event, His Excellency Dr. bin Tamim, who is also the Secretary-General of the Sheikh Zayed Book Prize, will participate in the Arab Awards Forum organized by the General Secretariat of the King Faisal Prize. As a platform for Arab culture, the forum is composed of representatives from Arab world award organizations and provides opportunities to exchange knowledge and experience.

“The Riyadh International Book Fair is a prestigious event in the Arab world, especially because it attracts so many attendees,” said Mouza Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of ALC. “This year, we are committed to showing more and more Saudi and Arab readers that they are interested in the large number of published books in the center. We very much hope that after the challenges brought by the epidemic, we are seeing the recovery of the certificate exhibition, which will In turn, accelerate the pace of development of the publishing industry.”

An official ALC delegation will meet with cultural leaders in Saudi Arabia and national and regional publishers to determine the growth potential of the publishing industry. The delegation will also attend the Arab Publishers Conference from October 4th to 5th.

In its pavilion, ALC will display a series of audio books and printed books, including about 100 famous books and anthologies. Readers can also scan the QR code through the “Atheer Al Kutub” and “Wajeez Al Kutub” audiobook programs to browse books on their smartphones. In the event held in the ALC Pavilion, the signing ceremony for the release of Naseer Shamma’s debut work “Al Uslubia Al Mousiqiyah (Music Style)” will be held on October 7.
