Abu Dhabi celebrates Eid al-Adha with spectacular adventures, festivals and experiences

Abu Dhabi, UAE: During Eid al-Adha, Abu Dhabi will create a series of exciting festive experiences, offering residents and visitors a weekend full of unmissable activities, from immersive cultural experiences to awe-inspiring ‘s fireworks, family fun game festival and unmissable event “stay” deals.

On the first day of Eid al-Adha at 9pm, spectacular fireworks will light up the Abu Dhabi Corniche, Haza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain and the sky over Zayed City. Additionally, Yas Bay will feature a vibrant fireworks display at 9pm every day for the first three days of Hari Raya. Visitors can enjoy the views from the Yas Bay Waterfront and Yas Mall’s terraces, take advantage of some of the retail and foodie deals on offer, and make the most of the Eid weekend.

Spanning the Eid weekend, the 11-day Yas Games Festival will entertain families and teens with the latest in video games and gaming tournaments. Starting July 7, visitors will be able to enjoy action games for PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox, experience legendary games in a retro arcade zone, or go head-to-head with friends in a life-size racing simulator. The program will also include daily stage games and activations, including Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros, daily prize missions and role-playing competitions.

Al Ain’s main cultural site will also host community events immersed in Emirati culture during Eid al-Adha. Families are invited to celebrate the festival at Al Jahili Fort, Qasr Al Muwaiji, Al Ain Palace Museum, Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa, Al Qattara Arts Centre and Al Ain Oasis, where they will receive children’s treats and gifts.

Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa will be partnering with Creative Space Studio to host an Eid al-Fitr studio event for family and friends to capture their picture-perfect moments. Inspired by a cultural environment inspired by the spirit of the historic house, two dedicated studio spaces will be open July 9-10 from 5pm to 10pm.

Families can also head to Cakes & Sprinkles, the Cultural Foundation’s summer pop-up store with a delicious dessert menu of cakes, coffee and ice cream. It will also feature artwork from 25 Emirati artists, as well as an interactive entertainment area, making it the perfect destination for a fun day out.

A series of food events will take residents and tourists on a culinary journey through Abu Dhabi during Eid al-Adha. Garage’s BIG Brunch, W Abu Dhabi, will serve patrons’ plates with a variety of snacks, from mezze sauces that reflect the region’s tastes to tantalizing Asian dishes.

Residents and visitors can also enjoy a delicious feast at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi’s Urban Kitchen, which will feature specialty food stations including exquisite grilled meats, Arabic specialties and the freshest selection of seafood.

For a relaxing long weekend getaway, several hotels and resorts in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are promoting fantastic Eid ‘stay’ deals. These packages offer UAE nationals and residents great room rates, exciting dining deals and other perks to keep them in the festive spirit during their short breaks.

Guests can experience Radisson Blu Hotel & Resorts, Abu Dhabi Corniche, from AED 479 per night, with a daily free dining voucher of AED 300; Radisson Blu Hotel & Resorts, Ain, from AED 299 per night, daily Free AED 200 dining voucher from AED 449 per night at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotels & Resorts to get a free AED 300 daily dining voucher or Le Meridien Abu Dhabi from AED 429 per night , get a free AED 300 daily dining voucher. To venture outside the city for a peaceful ‘stay’ and spend quality time in nature, holidaymakers should head to Telal Resorts Al Ain Resort for its unique Hari Raya deals, overnight stays in its traditional deluxe rooms with breakfast from $1,399 from dirhams. Offer includes two complimentary selected desert activities, 20% off select massage treatments and 10% off other leisure and entertainment activities around the resort. Advance reservations are required on allotted offer days (July 7-11) and are subject to availability.

The award-winning Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri will offer guests an unforgettable three-night stay, while booking from July 7 to 17 for just two nights. From AED 1,315 per night, this offer includes a daily complimentary sumptuous buffet breakfast for children under 12 and late check-out until 3pm, allowing guests to make Eid al-Fitr family time last longer.

The Traders Escape package at the Traders Hotel Qaryat Al Beri invites guests to book a three-night stay in the seaside haven from July 7th to 17th for only two nights. Premier Rooms from AED 727 per night with daily buffet breakfast and late check-out at 3pm.
