City organizes two-week ‘Little Swimmer’ program
Children in Abu Dhabi schools have been trained in new swimming skills during the summer break to encourage them to exercise.
The Abu Dhabi Municipality organised the “Little Swimmers” at Al Bateen Beach, which taught children aged 6 to 11 for two weeks. This is in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority.
The initiative aims to encourage children to exercise during the holidays. In addition to managing, developing and activating municipal utilities, it enhances community engagement and improves the quality of services provided to the public, city officials said.
The municipality provides swimming instructors for children visiting Al Bateen Beach, who train them on proper swimming rules and principles, as well as how to practice the sport and develop their swimming skills in a correct and useful way.
The trainers are also keen to provide the children with many tips and urge them to develop their motor and physical skills. It introduces them to the importance and necessity of engaging in physical activity appropriate to their age and ability.
