A construction company in Abu Dhabi has been ordered to pay Dh883,000 owed to a bus supply and rental company.
The company has hired buses from the company to transport its workers, but has refused to pay.
Official court documents said the bus supply and rental company filed a complaint with the Abu Dhabi Commercial Court seeking to order the contracting company to pay Dh883,000 for the use of its buses and other equipment.
The bus rental company said it had signed a contract with the construction company, agreeing to hire buses to transport workers.
Rents piled up and the contractor refused to pay, prompting the plaintiff to take the contractor to court.
Plaintiff also showed the court a copy of its business license, a copy of defendant’s business license, contracts, and copies of purchase orders and invoices in support of its claim.
From the documents, it can be determined that the value that the accused has to pay has exceeded Dh883,000.
After hearing all parties, the judge ruled and ordered the contracting company to pay Dh883,000 to the bus supply and rental company.
In addition to the plaintiff’s legal fees, the court ordered the company to pay statutory interest of 5% per annum on the amount.
