Renovation heralds extensive new development of world-class facility to better reflect the venue’s status as the UAE’s premier community sports hub

A new era of sports expansion has begun in the UAE capital with the rebranding of the Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports brand to the Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Centre (ADCSH).
The renovation heralds extensive new development of the world-class facility to better reflect the venue’s status as the UAE’s premier community sports hub.
ADCSH will now host five new Olympic-focused sports clubs formed by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), as well as the city’s only “pay-as-you-go” 50-meter Olympic-sized community pool – this is 2021 An important legacy of the 2019 FINA World Aquatics Championships (25M) at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island.
Moving to ADCSH are Abu Dhabi Athletics Club, Abu Dhabi Racket Club, Abu Dhabi Fencing Club, Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club and Abu Dhabi Archery Club, all of which now join the centre’s vibrant community and schools Outreach program.
“These developments significantly strengthen our commitment to active collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Centre, where we have been working to encourage sport and fitness for residents of the UAE capital, and provide domestic leisure for our growing number of future professional stars There may be opportunities for athletes to provide truly accessible training,” said Aref Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

ADCSH is now building a new eight-lane Olympic-sized pool that combines the World Championships 25m training and 25m final pools used at last year’s FINA World Aquatics Championships (25M) in Abu Dhabi.
The center has also completed an 8-lane World Athletics standard 400-meter track that can be used by community athletes and international teams for all athletics.
The new development expands the Hub’s sports grounds to 251,000 square meters, increases its portfolio of partner clubs to 30, and increases the number of sports played at the venue to 35.
“This all transforms ADCSH into the most forward-thinking and community-focused facility in the region, with an unparalleled multi-sport facility,” said Matthew Boucher, CEO of ADCSH.
“These developments build on our world-class international and domestic cricket facilities and credentials, which have made our facility home to the iconic Zayed Cricket Stadium, a global cricket ground that is instantly recognised and admired land.”
Boucher said cricket would remain one of their top priorities.
