Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in bad weather Expected this week.
Officials met in person on Sunday morning to discuss aggressive measures across the emirate to limit potential damage from the heavy rainfall forecast.
The meeting was chaired by Major General Fares Khalaf Al Mazroui, Commander-in-Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team.
Maj Gen Al Mazrouei reviewed and approved plans on how to ensure all key teams are prepared for severe weather.
He also stressed the importance of all teams working together and following uniform procedures to deal with emergencies.
Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre Acting Director-General Dr Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi said follow-up plans are in place to ensure all the necessary resources are in place to deal with the severe weather.
He said they were coordinating with various teams from the city and the Department of Transportation to ensure the free flow of the valley’s streams. Dr. Al Nuaimi pledged to hold a coordination meeting with all relevant field teams from Al Ain and Al Dhafrah, Red Crescent, Tadweer, Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health and Al Ain Distribution Company to ensure rapid response to all involved Effective response to emergencies.
Officials stressed the importance of staying informed of the latest weather developments through official channels and channels, and called on the public to follow directions, stay safe and avoid entering dangerous places.
The meeting was attended by Abu Dhabi Government Media Office, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, Ministry of Municipalities and Transport, Emirates Red Crescent, Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi, Ministry of Energy – Abu Dhabi, Tadweer , National Weather Center and Adnoc.
