Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: He Ying. Ahmed Mohammed Belajer Al Rumaithi, Deputy Minister of Energy, met with His Excellency Amir Hayek, Ambassador of Israel to the United Arab Emirates, to discuss cooperation and development between the two countries in the field of clean and renewable energy.

Al Rumaithi stressed the importance of building bridges of cooperation in various energy sectors, especially water, electricity, wastewater treatment and district cooling, noting that the energy sector has many opportunities of mutual interest. These will open up new horizons for cooperation between the two countries in numerous fields, including renewable energy, desalination technologies such as reverse osmosis, and low-carbon hydrogen production, transportation and storage, demand-side management and advanced irrigation. In addition to focusing on modern technologies outside of innovation.

The DOE’s scope of work and the areas that DOE seeks to develop through its strategic initiatives were presented to the ambassadors. U.S. Department of Energy representatives presented the future prospects of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s hydropower sector and the growing reliance on clean energy in Abu Dhabi’s energy mix. Delegates also showcased the emirate’s water production cycle, as well as the policy and regulatory framework for the hydrogen industry that the U.S. Department of Energy is currently developing in partnership with a number of public and private entities.

The meeting was an opportunity to review some proposals for areas of future cooperation between the sector and the relevant Israeli authorities. Al Rumaithi said that Abu Dhabi’s energy sector has made great strides in diversifying its energy mix over the past decade, particularly with the opening of the Shams 1 Concentrated Solar Plant, the Noor Abu Dhabi Solar Plant and the first The reactor at the Barakah nuclear power plant after the operation of a solar power plant. Clean energy and water provide unlimited opportunities for cooperation between the two countries to help them achieve a carbon-neutral future.

HE Hayek stressed that the State of Israel looks forward to strengthening cooperation with the UAE in various fields, noting that the energy sector is one of the most important sectors where the two countries can contribute to combating climate change, securing energy supply and securing energy supply. Reduce reliance on energy sources that contribute to harmful carbon emissions.
