Abu Dhabi Energy Services provides energy-saving solutions across the emirate

Abu Dhabi Energy Services Company (ADES), a market maker for energy services in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced today that it has signed agreements with leading government entities, including the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), Abu Dhabi Health Services Company ( SEHA), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and Emirates Schools Institution (ESE) to identify electricity and water conservation opportunities in their facilities and buildings in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The agreements were signed today at the World Future Energy Summit in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), and HE Saeed Al Fazari, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of TAQA Group. , Executive Director of DCT Support Services in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Dr Rabaa Al Sumaiti, Director General of ESE, Dr Tarek Fathey, CEO of SEHA and Professor Ghaleb Ali Al Hadrami Al Breiki, UAE Vice-Chancellor.

Today’s announcement during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is the first step in enabling these entities to achieve significant electricity and water savings in their facilities, which will reduce their carbon footprint and utility spending, and will further accelerate Growth in the Abu Dhabi market for energy services”.

Under these agreements, ADES will conduct a series of assessments of the electricity and water consumption of buildings belonging to DCT, SEHA, UAEU and ESE to achieve tangible savings. In total, the organisations own around 34 buildings in the UAE that will be retrofitted with energy-efficient technologies to rationalise their consumption and reduce their carbon footprint in support of the UAE’s net zero goal. Some of these locations include Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, UAEU’s main campus, 10 schools under ESE, and Al Jahili Fort, a historical and cultural landmark.

ADES was established in Abu Dhabi to create a marketplace for energy service companies (ESCOs) that retrofit and assess the electricity and water consumption of existing structures. The financial model used by ADES does not require any capital commitments from governments or commercial entities, instead, ADES will manage the entire end-to-end process and recoup the project over time through utility savings. This makes it easier for all government entities to implement power and water savings and retrofit programs.

As a market maker, ADES is tasked with developing and developing the energy services market in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in line with Abu Dhabi’s Demand Side Management and Rationalization Strategy (DSM) 2030, which aims to reduce electricity consumption by more than 22 times %, the water consumption is reduced by more than 32%.
