[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: Over 40,000 animal breeders will be able to source feed for 5 million livestock at the newly launched Feed Market in Abu Dhabi.

The facility, initiated by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), aims to provide breeders with convenient access to high-quality animal feed at competitive prices.

Fodder Market is located near the Livestock Farm (Ezbah) and is connected to a group of existing regular markets, in addition to an online feed trading platform for all companies in the UAE.

There are already 12 markets in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, including 85 points of sale allocated to 30 companies for the sale and marketing of animal feed. More such marketplaces will be created to include companies specializing in feed sales and marketing.

feed trade

Feed trade in the UAE is worth more than AED 2.5 billion per annum, with approximately 3 million tonnes sold. ADAFSA, which regulates food production, distribution and safety in the emirate, said the launch of the Feed Market is expected to boost trade and promote fair competition among suppliers.

Currently, there are 12 food outlets in the emirate, including Al Faya in Abu Dhabi City, Al Sila, Al Mirfa, Ghayathi, Khanoor and Tharwaniyyah in Al Dhafra area, and Kuraya in Wahat Al Sahra, Al Ouya, Bu Al Ain area, Al Dhahira, Nahel and Al Anjah.

Benefits for Breeders

ADAFSA Director General Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri said the new Fodder Market will connect feed buyers across all emirates with ADAFSA-approved suppliers. This will enable transparent and easy selling and purchasing, ensuring livestock farmers get the feed they need at the highest quality and best price.

“Livestock owners across all emirates will be able to obtain high-quality products from trusted suppliers through Fodder Market, which, in addition to the online platform, is linked to the regular marketplace. The outlet is the first of its kind in the Middle East, It is also the outlet with the largest transaction volume and transaction value every year,” Al Ameri said.

In addition to the benefits of having a variety and variety of forage and compound feed available through a registered company, this point of sale also protects breeders from dealing with street vendors, saving them time and effort. Buyers can also be assured of the source and quality of the feed.
