Abu Dhabi government increases golden visa validity from 5 to 10 years

[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: According to local media reports, the validity period of all categories of “golden” visas in Abu Dhabi has been extended from five years to ten years.

Mark Dorsey, Director of Operations at the Abu Dhabi Residential Office, said the “golden” visa, now valid for ten years, offers a wide range of residency options for professionals and researchers in the fields of science and knowledge such as doctors, specialists, scientists and inventors.

“Golden visa holders can sponsor their spouses, children and parents without any age limit,” Mark Dorsey said, according to the Khaleej Times.

On Wednesday, January 11, Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) announced that over 79,000 Golden Visas will be issued in 2022, covering all categories.

Created by the UAE government in 2019, the “golden” visa allows foreigners to live, work and study in the country without a state sponsor and to take 100% business ownership in the UAE mainland.

Golden Visa holders enjoy exclusive benefits, including a six-month multiple-entry visa upon completion of the Golden Visa process, and a renewable 5- or 10-year residence visa.

Golden visa holders can also stay outside the UAE for more than six months and are entitled to residence permits for family members including spouse and children.

Investors, entrepreneurs, academics, students, distinguished alumni, humanitarian pioneers, frontline heroes and more are eligible for the Golden Visa.
