Tourists staying at capital hotels up 24%, generating AED5.4 billion in revenue last year
Statistics show that the occupancy rate of Abu Dhabi hotels last year was 70%.
According to the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, a total of 4.1 million hotel tourists will stay in Abu Dhabi hotels in 2022, a 24% increase from 2021.
By 2022, hotel revenue will increase by 23% over the previous year to reach AED5.4 billion.
Statistics show that Abu Dhabi hotels had an occupancy rate of 70% in the reference year, an increase of 0.2% compared to 2021. The average hotel stay by guests was about three nights per guest, with an average revenue per available room of Dh263, up 19%.
UAE nationals accounted for the largest share of the capital’s hotel guests in the past year at 29 percent, equivalent to 1.182 million guests.
Indian citizens lead all other non-UAE citizens with 12%, equivalent to 480,000 tourists, a 31% increase over the same period in 2021. Citizens of the United Kingdom, Egypt, the Philippines and Saudi Arabia followed with 4 percent each. – Wow
