The 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) of the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), will take place tomorrow with “Inspire, Innovate, Enrich”.
The show will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from May 23rd to 29th and will be attended by more than 1,130 publishers from over 80 countries. This year, ADIBF will host more than 450 cultural, academic and creative events such as interactive events that appeal to all segments of society.
As the country of honor at ADIBF 2022, the Federal Republic of Germany will present in its own pavilion a comprehensive project showcasing the country’s culture and history. These include the participation of nearly 80 publishers, experts and creators at more than 14 cultural and professional conferences, as well as German film screenings based on books. Visitors will also be invited to explore the works of renowned poet, writer, playwright and novelist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, while the pavilion’s visual commentary will introduce visitors to Germany’s outstanding creativity and literary tradition.
Audiences can enjoy the event at ADIBF’s multiple locations, including the main stage, youth platform, business lobby, lifestyle corner and arts corner. The program features extensive dialogue sessions, seminars, and literary, cultural and scholarly events. Some of the most anticipated guests include poet and literary critic Adonis; Guido Imbens, winner of half of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Economics; Professor Roger Allen, Western Modern Arabic Literature Principal Investigator; and Professor Muhsin J. Al Musawi, Professor of Arabic and Comparative Literature at Columbia University, New York.
This year’s event will also include a wide range of educational activities and activities for children, including music and dance performances, workshops and more. Abu Dhabi Arabic Centre invites all members of society to attend the exhibition and participate in its activities.
