ABU DHABI – The Abu Dhabi Department of Justice (ADJD) issued 324,479 court notices to parties involved in legal proceedings in 2022, nearly 300,000 of which were issued using new technologies.
This momentum is driven by ADJD’s keenness to deliver smart legal and judicial services of the highest quality standards in a way that supports the competitiveness of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Naha Young’s Instructing Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the ADJD.
The department explained that it employs an advanced court notification system where notices from parties are automatically generated in the claim form without requiring court users to submit a request. If users require notice at any stage of the litigation process, they can submit a notice request and pay the associated fee remotely.
The Department reported that the Federal Code of Civil Procedure Amendments and ADJD’s internal working procedures help improve the efficiency of the judicial service by leveraging its modern technological infrastructure, saving litigants time and effort in handling their ongoing cases.
Last year, the department made approximately 300,000 notifications, including 199,373 by phone, 91,998 by text message, 5,299 by email and 2,877 via the ADJD website.
ADJD stated that the amendments to the Federal Code of Civil Procedure and ADJD’s internal working procedures can help improve the efficiency of judicial notifications, saving time and effort.
Judicial notification is a formal way of informing the parties about the circumstances of the case, enabling the parties to continue the proceedings and helping to achieve justice for the litigants.
