Text description provided by the architect. The first club exclusively for women was built in Abu Dhabi’s magnificent setting, overlooking a lagoon in the clear waters of the Persian Gulf. At the new club, luxury and comfort are the hallmarks of Urbanism Planining Architecture, an international architecture firm with offices in Milan and Abu Dhabi. The studio’s lead architect and co-founder is Italian architect Paolo Letiri.
The modern organic architecture of the clubhouse (12,000 m² main building) is reminiscent of the planned floral forms: the client’s request was to have a unique building, highly iconic, with a curved and non-rigid shape. The sinuous form generates the flow and unusual spaces that give the building its character. The factory contains a semi-covered central space called the festival space. In this space, there is an outdoor swimming pool and sunbathing area overlooking the park and the beach. The cladding of the buildings is stone, while the floors of the famous areas are Carrara Calacatta marble.
The clubhouse includes restaurants, cafeterias, lounge and VIP areas, fitness and VIP fitness areas, semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool with whirlpool relaxation area, kindergarten, some shops and boutiques, and finally a new music school that will Completion in 2021. The complex also has an area dedicated to outdoor sports, such as a regular football field with associated stands and changing rooms (500 m²), surrounded by athletics tracks, tennis courts and sheds for boats and water sports equipment .
The entire complex is immersed in a park of 180,000 square meters overlooking the sea: in front of the club beach, a special lagoon, 120 to 150 meters wide, separated from the open sea, has a series of land and breakwaters: in the lagoon, women Swim and sunbathe freely without the need to don the smocks characteristic of the Persian Gulf region, away from prying eyes and curious ships. In addition to the landscaped areas and beaches for festivals and special events, a special lagoon has been created to maximize the privacy and security of club members and guests, with an adequate number of parking spaces.
