According to a news report by the Emirates News Agency, the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has launched the Abu Dhabi Digital Twin Project.
According to DMT, the project will enable the use of 3D augmented reality to better facilitate and support the decision-making process. In addition to this, the project is said to integrate state-of-the-art technologies such as aerial photography, lidar scanning and game engines.
The project aims to present a comprehensive and accurate representation of the emirate, including the external shapes of buildings, allowing users to explore the emirate’s development in 3D and evaluate a wealth of data.
Dr. Salem Al Kaabi, Director General of Operations at DMT, said: “By using 3D modelling to create a complete visualization of the emirate, the Abu Dhabi Digital Twin project facilitates data analysis, facilitates decision-making, monitors the emirate’s cities, and uses virtual reality to stand out to the public. most prominently.”
