Folk musicians have been entertaining visitors to the 2022 Al Dhafra Book Festival with a series of entertaining performances. The enthusiastic response from the public shows that the traditional music form is not only alive and well, but continues to thrive in the country.

This year’s theme: “Celebrating Cultural Heritage”, was inspired by a poem by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father, in which he expressed immense pride in Al Dhafra, emphasizing the The region is a prominent cultural, tourist and historical destination for tourists from all over the world.

Under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Regional Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi in Al Dhafra, the festival features a series of local, Arab and International musical performances and folk dances that tell about their country’s heritage.

Dressed in colorful traditional attire, the artists roam Al Dhafra Zayed City’s public parks, delighting visitors with melodies that retell historical stories. These performances attract large audiences.

There are programs designed to entertain students and teens, as well as competitions to encourage them to read.
