An elated Surya said: “I’m still trying to figure out how many zeros there are in a million dirhams. Since moving to Abu Dhabi seven years ago, I’ve sent every dirham I’ve earned to my family in Nepal”.
The family man chose to live frugally so he could provide a better life for his family back home. “I was at work when the live draw took place on Saturday night and I didn’t realize I had won until I checked my Mahzooz account on Sunday morning. The same draw had 16 participants who matched four of the following five numbers 9, 20, 21, 41, 42 and shared the second prize of AED 200,000, winning AED 12,500 each. The other 1,023 winners matched three of the five numbers and won AED250 each.
