Abu Dhabi Music Festival hosts a concert combining classical Fasr music and Arabic-Andalusian music in Belgium

In its 18day The Abu Dhabi Music Festival (ADF) announced that it will host a unique concert themed “The Future Starts Now” at BOZAR, Brussels, Belgium on November 11. The event is organized by the Abu Dhabi Arts Festival in cooperation with the Belgian Art Center, and will showcase the fusion of classical Fasr music and Arabic-Andalusian music through the stalwarts of each craft.

In addition to the Brussels Fine Arts Center, the performance partners of the Abu Dhabi Arts Festival include BOZAR MUSIC, Darna Cultural Center, Moussem Nomadic Art Center, Seyer Music and the non-profit organization Takasim.

Arab-Andalusian music and Ottoman music are the result of cross-cultural exchanges. These two schools have a long history of enriching society and stimulating intellectual integration. In the former, there are medieval Spanish, African Berber and Arab tunes, while the latter is influenced by Turkish, Arab, Persian, Greek, Jewish and Armenian melodies.

The concert in the BOZAR Concert Hall is the product of several months of collaboration between musicians from Morocco, Turkey and Belgium. The participating staff have conducted several seminars and master classes on the two classical music styles, resulting in fascinating performances.

The 18th Abu Dhabi Festival was supported by its main partner Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala) and energy partner GS Energy.

The 18th one-year program combines a unique mixed schedule of virtual and face-to-face performances, exhibitions and events by more than 500 artists from more than 50 countries. The festival will provide audiences with 16 exciting world premieres, 12 festival productions, 8 global co-productions and 4 exclusive commissions, as well as a global music tour.
