Abu Dhabi: New Covid-19 rules, green pass agreement, complete list of capacity increases-News

The new regulations restrict people who have been vaccinated against Covid from entering public places and increase the operating capacity of shopping malls and restaurants.

Abu Dhabi authorities announced a series of Covid-19 safety measures on Saturday. The new rules restrict access to public places for people vaccinated with Covid (reflecting the green pass agreement for the AlHosn app); Improve the operational capabilities of shopping malls and restaurants, Etc.; and stipulate the procedure for tourists to register their vaccination certificates issued abroad.

>> Access to public places is restricted to vaccinations

-Starting from August 20th, public places in Abu Dhabi will be entered Only for residents and tourists vaccinated against Covid.

-They must have one Green status on the AlHosn app, It appears after a negative PCR test result and remains active for 30 days.

-Those who are exempt from vaccination will get a green status on the AlHosn app within 7 days after the PCR test result is negative.

-Children under 16 do not need to be tested to obtain green status.

-People who have not been vaccinated and those who are grayed out on the AlHosn app (reflecting the expiration of the PCR test) are prohibited from entering public places.

-Holders of a new residence permit have a 60-day grace period for vaccination.

-In order to remain vaccinated on the AlHosn app, a booster must be taken six months after receiving the second dose. Give a 30-day grace period. (Participants in the vaccine trial are exempt from the need for booster doses.)

-Public places include shopping malls, restaurants, cafes and all other retail stores, including retail stores not in shopping malls, as well as gyms, entertainment facilities and sports activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centers and theme parks. The list also includes universities, research institutes, public and private schools, and child nurseries in the emirate.

>> Operational capacity improvement

As only vaccinated persons enter the country, the Abu Dhabi authorities have increased the operational capacity of certain activities. The new capacity will take effect on August 20.

-Shopping malls, entertainment centers, cultural centers, museums and cinemas will operate at 80% capacity.

-The capacity of restaurants and cafes has increased to 80%, and can accommodate up to 10 people at one table. You must wear a mask when you are not eating.

-Health clubs, sports academies, gyms and spas will operate at 50% capacity.

-The community and sports events can accommodate 60% of the capacity. This ability also applies to exhibitions and conferences, as well as entertainment activities including plays and concerts.

-The wedding hall can operate at 60% capacity and can accommodate up to 100 guests.

-Public transportation can run at 75% capacity.

-A taxi driver can take up to 3 passengers in a 5-person taxi, and a 7-person taxi can carry up to 4 passengers.

>> Vaccine registration certificate issued abroad

-This process enables visitors to get a green status on the AlHosn app. From August 20, only people with this status can enter some public places.

-Before departure, visitors need to register in the “Arrival Registration” section of the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) application.

-Fill in the form and upload the international vaccination certificate.

-The visitor will then receive a text message including a link to download the AlHosn app.

-Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, visitors will receive a Uniform Identification Number (UID) at the airport or through the ICA application or website.

-Visitors need to download and register on the AlHosn app, using the UID and phone number used for ICA registration or PCR testing in the UAE.

-Visitors will receive a one-time password (OTP) to complete the AlHosn app registration process.
