In the first six months of 2022, Abu Dhabi Police’s aviation unit conducted 570 operations, including 41 airlift missions for the sick and wounded.

The operations also included 238 police patrol operations, 177 staff training operations and 114 other missions, officials said.

The police perform many operations to rescue the wounded and sick, as well as find missing persons.

In January, an air ambulance transported a man seriously injured in a vehicle collision to Sheikh Shahbut Medical City. Brigadier General Pilot Ibrahim Hassan Al Balushi, Director of Abu Dhabi Police Aviation, Central Operations, stressed that the department is keeping pace with all developments that meet Abu Dhabi Police’s 24-hour security and police force requirements. sky.

“The police always respond to emergencies and traffic accident victims and transfer them to specialized hospitals for treatment by planes equipped with the latest medical equipment,” he said, adding that police cadres are well-trained and have all the necessary skills.

Al Balushi noted that the force is keen to respond to humanitarian appeals and has always been at accident sites and elsewhere within response time to save lives and provide humanitarian care in inaccessible areas and external roads, or to stranded people, regardless of whether Either on land or at sea.

Police said the medical team in the air ambulance provided necessary treatment to the injured on the way to the hospital and submitted health reports to hospital officials and staff.

The official noted that the Air Wing conducted a 28-session flight simulation course with 57 pilots, as well as a transformative flight course with pilots. Other training courses include pilot courses, instrument flight courses, search and rescue, transformative flight courses on the latest aircraft, as well as lectures, exercises and various seminars.

The army also cultivates the pilot’s ability, trains them in the latest modern science and technology, and recruits them in domestic and foreign aviation medicine, aircraft maintenance and other courses.

Residents can call an ambulance by dialing 998 (from anywhere in the UAE). An air ambulance can be dispatched for the patient if needed.

Hospitals in the UAE can handle any medical emergency. In a medical emergency, the hospital will accept you for initial treatment and may transfer you to a better equipped hospital to handle your concerns.

The UAE provides standard medical care and tourists can easily obtain medical care from private or government hospitals. In emergencies, treatment for stable cases is free. Other treatments must be paid for in cash, credit card or insurance.
