Police have issued a safety plea to the public after a motorist was involved in a crash while a photo was taken in Al Ain. flood in that area.
A photo released by Abu Dhabi police shows a Nissan patrol car overturned in a water-filled wadi downpour on Wednesday.
The car appeared to veer off a nearby road.
Police said the driver suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Police urged the public to stay away from flood-affected areas and warned of the dangers of distraction while driving.
Heavy downpours were reported in Al Ain city on Wednesday night.
The National Weather Service issued an alert, urging people in the Garden City to be careful during severe weather conditions.
Severe weather is expected to continue until 9pm on Wednesday, it said.
Much of the northern emirate was hit by summer flooding last week, causing widespread flooding.
The extreme weather caused damage to homes, vehicles and property, killing seven people and saving more than 800.
