Abu Dhabi: On World Radio Day today, Abu Dhabi Police launched a new recording studio to raise awareness and communicate with the community on safety issues and traffic regulations.
“The recording studio is one of the development projects coordinated by Abu Dhabi Police and the Center for Strategic and Institutional Development. It serves the goals of Abu Dhabi Police and its ongoing efforts to diversify its communication channels with the community,” said Abu Dhabi Police Security Media Department Director Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Muhairi said.
The official explained that the new studio will be especially useful in emergencies, providing quick alerts and broadcasting traffic, community and other awareness messages. Police officers have received training in the introduction, preparation and command of radio programs and implemented an approved college student hands-on training program.
Al Muhairi added that the Abu Dhabi Police are keen to provide daily information and alerts in emergencies and broadcast radio programs focusing on safety, community and guiding awareness of different social issues such as the dangers and damages of drugs, traffic regulations, crime , and the hazards of certain phenomena and behaviors.
Abu Dhabi Police’s recording studio will be multitasking, most importantly recording voiceovers for police documentaries and awareness campaigns, recording radio interviews for police spokespeople, traffic and community outreach projects, alerts, reports, news and other materials. In addition to archiving recorded material, the studio will be used to train university students and police talent.
Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized that local media in all forms are important partners of Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters. He commended it for its effective and influential role in maintaining communication with all segments of the community and spreading safety and traffic awareness.
