The Islamabad-Abu Dhabi Ports Company, owned by Sheikh Ahmed Darmouk Al Maktoum, a member of the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates, has shown keen interest in investing in Pakistan’s ports and shipping sector. Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Makhtoom visited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Friday and discussed investment options with him.
Referring to the fraternal relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan attaches great importance to further expanding the fraternal relationship with the UAE in various fields, especially in trade and investment.
Prime Minister welcomes strong interest Abu Dhabi Invest in Pakistani ports and ports in the shipping industry.
Sheikh Ahmed Darmouk Al Maktoum said he will visit Pakistan again in less than two months with the aim of further promoting UAE investment in Pakistan. The Prime Minister assured that the government will provide all possible support to UAE investors.
The meeting was attended by Union Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, SAPM Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, SAPM Syed Tariq Fatemi and senior officials.
Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al Zabi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, was also present.
