Abu Dhabi Private School has informed parents that students will have a mid-term break from October 17 to October 23 this year.
According to Emarat Al Youm, the school said the break was to give students a breather. Schools will resume as planned on Monday, October 24.
Education authorities are encouraging students to use this time to step back and review their academic progress. Teachers are also advised to determine each student’s academic level and support students who fall behind.
Some parents have expressed concern that Emarat Al Youm is giving students too many breaks, saying students have six holidays a year. They believe the number of holidays should be reduced in order to end the school year early.
