Charisma chose the For-A solution when building a new facility in Saudi Arabia to meet the growing demand for entertainment and events.
Abu Dhabi-based production company Charisma Group recently selected FOR-A’s end-to-end system to rapidly expand its studio capacity. Charisma has production capabilities in the Bay Area and works with local and international broadcasters. The company needs to ramp up production very quickly and look to expand as the Covid-19 lockdown eases.
It chose to build a new facility in Saudi Arabia in response to unprecedented demand for entertainment and activities. With the studio having to go live quickly and with limited manpower for the project, Charisma turned to For-A.
“Internally, we conducted a detailed exercise to explore the best options,” said Aiman Al-Ziyoud, CEO of Charisma Group. “The time scale was the most challenging factor we faced. Although our top engagement with all industries There have been multiple transactions with the operator, but we opted for FOR-A’s solution.”
The initial project established a large production studio centered around a FOR-A HVS-2000 production switcher, MFR-3000 router, FA-9600 multifunction audio and video processor, ClassX dual-channel graphics generator, and Insight production server . FOR-A also provides third-party displays and other infrastructure equipment.
A second, smaller studio has now been added, using the HVS-490 to make the switcher. Both studios contain Insight video servers. They have now been used to meet the growing demand for Charisma-produced content from major broadcasters in the region, including MBC, SBA, Rotana and IMG.
Project system integrators Ideas Concept and Charisma look at technology solutions for the entire market. While speed of implementation was critical to the project, they also recognized that they needed to maintain the highest technical and creative standards. They also need to keep in mind the possibility of upgrading to 4k Ultra HD in the near future.
“From a detailed discussion with the Charisma team, we got a clear vision of what they want to achieve now and how to expand it in the future, including the prospect of 4k Ultra HD,” said Mohammed Abu Ziyadeh, Manager of Systems Engineering at FOR – Middle East. “As a result, we are able to realize their vision with a system that guarantees efficiency, reliability, time saving and excellent quality.
“It has been a great pleasure to work with the Charisma team in Saudi Arabia during these challenging times,” added Abu Ziyadeh. “They were very cooperative before, during and after the installation. We are all proud of the work we have done on this extraordinary production facility and delivered within a very tight timeframe.”
