Dubai is also ranked in the top five…
This April, Deep Knowledge Group (DKG) released a list of the top 25 cities that responded best to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The list has now been updated and expanded to 50 cities. Abu Dhabi still maintains its number one position in the world.
To create “Ranking of the safest cities during the COVID-19 pandemic in the second quarter of 2021” DKG analyzed 114 key parameters in five categories, including healthcare management, vaccination rates, government efficiency, efficient health and quarantine systems, and economic flexibility. The survey assessed the key aspects and overall effectiveness of the overall pandemic response.
Abu Dhabi surpassed other particularly safe cities such as Singapore, Seoul, Tel Aviv and Dubai to occupy a very meaningful top position on the list.
How Abu Dhabi topped the list
Most of the capital’s success stories can be traced back to the rapid, decisive and effective policy making of Abu Dhabi’s leadership.
The city has maintained one of the lowest death rates in the world, quickly established field hospitals, and reached fragile large-scale testing centers (so much so that Abu Dhabi is now a PCR testing and processing centers in other countries) And screening facilities, including drive-through options.
Abu Dhabi has also taken the lead in research and development work, especially in creating the world’s first Phase III trial Inactivated virus vaccine.
The UAE currently leads the world in terms of the percentage of the population receiving two doses of the vaccine, and ranks first in the world in terms of dose per 100 people (in the list of countries with a population of more than 1 million).
“Our World Data” shows that the UAE ranks first in the world in terms of the percentage of individuals receiving 2 doses of the vaccine. For countries with a population of more than 1 million, it is also the world’s first in terms of dose distribution rate per 100 people. pic.twitter.com/jsAjjI4Jhr
