Adek conducted more than 200 compliance inspection visits to private and charter schools

The authorities warned that when students returned to campus for physical education on August 29, the Abu Dhabi private school failed to submit a daily compliance self-inspection report to the Emirate’s education regulatory agency and could be fined a maximum of 250,000 dirhams. Fine.

The Ministry of Education and Knowledge (Adek) of Abu Dhabi stated on Saturday that it has conducted more than 200 compliance inspection visits to private and charter schools across the UAE to ensure they are ready to safely welcome students back to classroom education in the 2021 school year- twenty two.

In an intensive two weeks, Adek’s health and safety team inspected 221 Abu Dhabi schools, which successfully obtained the reopened “No Objection Certificate” (NOC).

Prior to the new school year, private and charter schools in the emirate are advised to comply with a comprehensive health and safety compliance checklist to obtain a NOC that allows them to reopen.

Before Adek’s health and safety team visited again, schools that failed to meet the strict compliance agreement had 3 calendar days to correct non-compliance areas and 3 opportunities to prepare.

“If any school fails the third compliance check, they will be denied the option of reopening face-to-face learning and will be required to refund the tuition fees to parents who could have chosen to transfer their children to other schools,” Adek said. Said in a statement.

Once in operation, the Abu Dhabi school must submit a daily compliance self-inspection report to Adek, which will be regularly inspected by the department’s compliance inspector.

Adek warned that fines for violations ranged from AED 10,000 to AED 250,000.
