Abu Dhabi Shipyard celebrates its 25th anniversary

[ad_1]

The Abu Dhabi Shipyard (ADSB) is a regional leader in naval and merchant ship design, construction, repair, maintenance, conversion and conversion. Today marks an important milestone in 25 years of serving the navy and maritime industry in the UAE and beyond .

The vision of ADSB to start operations is to become a trusted naval defense partner and a strategic national asset of the UAE. Since then, the business has continued to grow, providing high-quality ships and continuous lifelong support for the regional and global naval, commercial and luxury yacht industries.

Among its many achievements, ADSB successfully delivered the largest naval shipbuilding program in the region for the UAE Navy’s 6 Baynunah-class frigates and Arialah Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV). This year, ADSB signed the largest contract ever for the company-a contract worth 3 billion dirhams for the construction of four FALAJ3 OPV ships for the UAE Navy.

In its landmark 25 years, ADSB has also strengthened its design capabilities, and for the first time in the company’s history has developed a series of ships designed and built entirely at its 300,000 square meter shipyard in Abu Dhabi. The first prototype 12m and 16m fast patrol boats were unveiled on NAVDEX 2021 earlier this year. With the development of other designs and prototypes, ADSB has a healthy order pipeline to enable it to maintain and develop in the future.

Over the years, ADSB has successfully expanded its international influence through cooperation with leading industry players to ensure that its customers have access to the most cutting-edge solutions in the market. While ADSB will continue to develop the country’s sovereign capabilities, the company will pay more attention to export sales and contribute to a competitive knowledge economy.

Khalid Al Breiki, President of EDGE Mission Support and Chairman of ADSB, said: “ADSB’s story is one of dedicated ambitions and progress. We are proud to witness the company’s development from a local company to today’s highly competitive and globally recognized shipyard We are now firmly set our sights on growth in the next 25 years.”

David Massey, CEO of ADSB said: “At ADSB, we continue to invest in our shipyard and our employees to meet the increasingly demanding needs of the industry. Our true success is due to the abilities and skills of our employees. We are proud to be able to Celebrate 25 years of serving the industry and want to share our gratitude to our partners and customers for their trust in us.”

As one of the most advanced shipyards in the Middle East, ADSB operates three main naval projects: frigates, offshore patrol ships, and fast patrol boats. The company also provides a full range of maintenance, repair and modification, upgrade and modification, and engineering consulting services.

ADSB is part of the EDGE platform and system cluster. EDGE is an advanced technology group that ranks among the top 25 military suppliers in the world.
