The Abu Dhabi Sustainable Development Group (ADSG), with the support of the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency (EAD), will host a Hiwar (Arabic for Conversation) knowledge sharing session at “Travel to Dubai – Road to COP28”, Abu Dhabi , May 3, 2023.
At the event, Group members and stakeholders will meet again face-to-face for the first time in the past three years to share best practice and thought leadership on the latest innovations and practical toolkits to advance decarbonization efforts.
While the meeting will provide an overview of past UN climate summits and agreements, the aim of the agenda is to identify the practical and immediate actions needed to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C – Tentacle available.
Over the past few decades, climate change has become a top priority in the UAE, placing a high priority on technological advancements in renewable and clean energy. The UAE will host the upcoming 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) (COP28) in Dubai later this year, reaffirming the country’s unwavering commitment to advancing climate action and mobilizing practical and innovative solutions solutions to the global climate crisis.
In addition to preparations for COP28 UAE and the UAE’s goals and vision, the event will be moderated by a diverse and prolific panel of global and local subject matter experts. Attendees will learn more about how nature-based solutions can be used to address the climate and biodiversity loss crises, and explore how the private sector and business can go from being part of the problem to being a key part of the solution, perhaps the greatest allies of help. This Hiwar conference will be the 13th in a long-running series of regular talks, bringing together over 100 senior sustainability professionals and practitioners across all disciplines and industries.
