The family of a girl who was seriously injured when her head fell from a swing while playing in a park in Al Ain has been awarded Dh700,000 in compensation.

The Al Ain Court of Appeal upheld an earlier ruling by a lower court ordering park management to pay compensation to the child’s family. However, the judge increased the damages from Dh400,000 to Dh700,000.

The girl’s father filed a lawsuit against Al Ain Park’s management and the authorities responsible for supervising, supervising and following up on its activities, demanding Dh3 million in physical, mental and material damage suffered by his daughter, according to official court documents.

He noted that his daughter was on a school trip to a park in Al Ain when the swing fell on the students. The swing hit her in the head and his daughter was seriously injured in the incident.

The forensic report showed that the girl had multiple fractures to her skull and multiple injuries to her face and neck.

The Crown Court of First Instance had earlier ruled that park rangers were negligent in causing the incident affecting the schoolgirl.

The child’s father subsequently filed a civil lawsuit against park management.

The Al Ain Civil Court of First Instance had earlier ordered the park management to pay the family Dh400,000 as compensation.

Both the child’s father and park officials challenged the decision to the appeals court, which upheld the decision but increased the damages to Dh700,000.

Park rangers were also told to pay the father’s legal costs.
