According to the ITC, the two rightmost lanes of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road on Saadiyat Island to Yas Island will be closed tonight (Friday 19th August) at 10pm to Sunday 22nd August Closes at 5am in the morning. The lanes will then open, but the far right lane will remain closed to vehicular traffic until 5am on Tuesday, August 23rd.
Meanwhile, the leftmost lane of Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road (E22) along Al Ghanadeer Street and Baniyas West will be closed tonight (Friday 19th August) at 10pm to Monday 22nd August Closes at 5am.
Major roads within the capital will also be partially closed over the weekend.
The two rightmost lanes in both directions will be closed along Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street (between Zayed 1st Street and Al Mawkib Street) from Friday 19th August 11pm to Friday 26th 11pm. This has caused some traffic jams in this busy area of central Abu Dhabi, and motorists may choose to find alternative routes.
Finally, the two rightmost lanes of Al Bateen Street (extending from Al Falah Street to Corniche Street) will also be closed to traffic from 12 am on Saturday 20 August until 5 am on Monday 22 August.
The ITC has urged motorists to drive with caution and obey traffic rules and regulations.
