Abu Dhabi to host space conference in December

Under the patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Abu Dhabi Space Debate Global Forum is scheduled for 5-6 December 2022.

Organised by the UAE Space Agency, the two-day conference aims to form an important new global forum for the space industry, nations, business leaders and policymakers to come together to achieve a genuine consensus on addressing the challenges facing growth and innovation in space. The problem.

Speaking about the Global Forum, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “The UAE is proud to host the Abu Dhabi Space Debate in December. The Abu Dhabi Space Debate aims to provide space sector leaders and policymakers around the world with a platform to examine the opportunities and challenges facing the sector, with the aim of advancing global dialogue and cooperation among nations while building concrete alliances , multilateral agreements, and provide a platform to drive the development of the entire industry.

Sarah Bint Yusuf Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology and Chair of the UAE Space Agency and the Abu Dhabi Space Debate Committee, added: “We are seeing a massive expansion of organisations developing the capabilities and potential of space, But this growth has brought challenges to the sector, from safeguarding national interests to regulating private sector players. The Abu Dhabi Space Debate aims to create a global platform that brings together a diverse and challenging audience and is advancing Concrete progress in international cooperation, standards and policy development in the space sector.”

Al Amiri noted: “As we implement our long-term ambitions in space, the first steps of which are clearly outlined in our National Space Strategy 2030, we cannot overemphasize the importance of international cooperation to our plans. We have always been keen to embrace the international community’s efforts to work together towards common goals and objectives, and we are committed to supporting Agreement and the UN Guidelines for the Long-Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities. The first Abu Dhabi Space Debate will bring together public and private space sector leaders and policymakers from around the world, particularly China, Europe, India, South Korea, the UK and the United States of America.
