Moreover, the department expects to reach a large number of customers through these campaigns by visiting their locations and providing them with translations in up to 5 languages ​​including Arabic, English, Urdu, Pashto and Bengali. This helps educate people about important legislation protecting their rights in the UAE, respond to their inquiries, and provide legal advice.
The department’s efforts to promote a legal culture through employee awareness initiatives are reflected in a reduction in labor cases. Over the past year, a series of activities have been carried out in the camps to familiarize workers with their duties under the new labor law.
These activities emphasize the need to comply with occupational safety and health regulations, maintain production equipment, not possess work-related paper or electronic records for personal use, maintain work, strive to develop functional and professional skills, and improve performance levels.
The activities also aim to inform workers about the process of entering into a contract with an employer, the appropriate channels and methods for lodging a complaint, how to obtain their rights under the employment contract in the event of contract termination or breach of duty by the employer, and what is required of the employer. termination.
The campaigns highlighted the need to contact the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation of Employment and the rules for doing so if the employer fails to provide the agreed job offer or the employee fails to receive payment on time, as well as the procedure for transfer to another factory.
The campaign also highlights the need to abide by the law to express grievances, to make complaints through legal channels without causing an uproar, and to enforce the right of employees to withdraw from the organization after fulfilling their commitments.
