Abu Dhabi’s Department of Energy (DoE) has been tasked with overseeing the emirate’s trade in petroleum products.
DOE will develop a comprehensive trade regulatory framework covering five key areas, namely; laws and regulations; collaboration with stakeholders; technology licensing; inspection and compliance; and enforcement.
The unit will also develop and communicate standards, specifications, and technical and operational requirements to all relevant parties, and will work with stakeholders to communicate and coordinate new regulatory and control requirements.
The DoE will be mandated to act as the competent authority under Federal Law No. (14) of 2017 on the Regulation of Trading in Petroleum Products and Law No. (5) of 2023 on the Regulation of Trading in Abu Dhabi Petroleum Products.
