Abu Dhabi University offers international study opportunities to over 455 engineering students

  • ADU School of Engineering offers students an advanced pathway to enroll in international master’s degree programs

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Continuing to provide students with a journey of academic excellence, the College of Engineering (CoE) at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) continues to collaborate with leading international academic institutions to further develop world-class programmes that equip students with skills and enable them to achieve their futures career goals. Since its inception, ADU has partnered with some of the world’s top academic institutions, providing international study opportunities to over 455 engineering students.

In line with its commitment to providing students with a diverse educational journey, CoE continues to collaborate with Purdue University, Vienna University of Technology, Technical University of Berlin, Sungkyunkwan University, South Carolina State University, University of Louisville, University of Jeddah and Ontario Institute of Technology – Energy Systems and Nuclear Science. These collaborations span different fields and industries to ensure students have a variety of options to suit their interests, including engineering management, architecture, information technology, electrical engineering, computer engineering, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace and mechanical engineering.

In addition, the College provides students with advanced pathways into international master’s degree programs by offering civil engineering students the opportunity to complete their studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earn a Master of Science degree from the University of Illinois. Likewise, civil engineering students can earn a master’s degree from Trinity College Dublin through a 4+1 pathway program offered by ADU.

In recent news, the Faculty has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Politecnico di Milano, the largest Italian university specialized in architecture, industrial design and engineering. The partnership aims to establish dual activities and projects of mutual interest and to facilitate knowledge exchange and transfer. Politecnico di Milano is ranked among the top 20 universities in the world in the Engineering and Technology category of the QS World University Rankings.

ADU’s CoE is currently pursuing preliminary accreditation for Arizona State University (ASU)’s new Bachelor of Science in Graphics Information Technology. A 3+1 program that offers students the opportunity to complete a year at ASU as part of their ADU degree. In the fall of 2021, the college welcomes Indonesian international students into its programs as part of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Award, making it one of the few engineering colleges in the MENA region to be selected as part of the program.

The Faculty of Engineering is the largest engineering school in the UAE. It offers a range of engineering and technology courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with new and innovative courses constantly being introduced. Since its inception, the CoE has awarded 4,940 degrees and graduated 4,770 engineers. Of these graduates, 32% are women and 36% are Emiratis. 94% of CoE graduates said they were satisfied with their educational experience at ADU, and 86% said they were currently working or studying in a field related to their studies.
