According to the latest international entry guidelines recently announced by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee, the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) announced that Abu Dhabi will welcome all vaccinated tourists and residents from all countries around the world , And tourists from “green list” countries who have not been vaccinated, have not taken quarantine measures. The vaccine must be approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). This will take effect from September 5, 2021.
Register international vaccination or exemption documents
In order to support the seamless entry of international travelers and allow tourists to safely enjoy the various experiences of the UAE capital through the Abu Dhabi Green Pass, DCT Abu Dhabi outlines a simple process that enables tourists to register their international vaccination certificates or vaccination exemption documents For verification 5 days before the travel date, through the Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) smart application or through the ica.gov.ae website.
Applicants will receive an SMS confirmation with a link to the Alhosn app, which must be downloaded before traveling. The Alhosn app displays the user’s vaccination status and PCR test results, which are required to activate the Abu Dhabi Green Pass.
Upon arrival, the passenger will receive a unified ID number from the airport immigration or through the ICA Smart app or website; this will complete the registration on the Alhosn app. After conducting a PCR test at the airport, visitors can activate the green pass, allowing them to enter all public places in the emirate.
Children under 12 and determined individuals (POD) with moderate and severe disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing.
Entry of vaccinated travelers from green-listed countries
According to the new guidelines, vaccinated passengers from all over the world who arrive from the Green List will be required to undergo a negative PCR test up to 48 hours before departure and a PCR test at the airport upon arrival. They do not need to be quarantined, but they need to undergo another PCR test on the 6th day (the day of arrival is counted as the first day). For convenience, their hotel will arrange for testing on site.
Entry of vaccinated passengers from all countries (outside the green list)
According to the new guidelines, vaccinated travelers from all over the world, from countries/regions not on the green list, will be required to undergo a PCR test up to 48 hours before departure and be tested negative at the airport on arrival. They do not need to be quarantined, but they will be required to undergo another PCR test on the 4th and 8th day (the day of arrival is the first day). For convenience, their hotel will arrange for testing on site.
Entry of unvaccinated travelers from green-listed countries
Unvaccinated travelers from “green list” countries will also be exempted from quarantine measures. They will be required to show a negative PCR test up to 48 hours before departure and undergo a PCR test on arrival. They also need to perform a PCR test on the 6th day (the day of arrival is counted as the first day), and another PCR test on the 9th day.
Entry of unvaccinated passengers from all countries (outside the green list)
Unvaccinated travelers from non-green list countries will be required to undergo PCR test negative at most 48 hours before departure and PCR test upon arrival. They will be required to isolate at home or hotel for 10 days (the day of arrival is counted as the first day). Then they must perform a PCR test on the 9th day; if the result is negative, the visitor can end the quarantine on the 10th day.
All tourists and residents entering public places:
In order to further protect the community members and tourists in the emirate, Abu Dhabi implemented the “Green Pass” agreement on August 20, allowing only those who have been fully vaccinated, formally exempted or under 16 years old to enter major public places and attractions.
In order to remain “green” on the Alhosn app, fully vaccinated individuals must show a negative PCR test result in the past 30 days, and an officially exempted individual must have a negative PCR test result in the past 7 days. Children under the age of 16 can automatically get a “green” status without testing.
As part of the registration process, the Alhosn app will identify and automatically synchronize the international vaccination or exemption certificates of visitors uploaded to the ICA app or website. If there are any technical problems with the Alhosn app, Abu Dhabi attractions will accept the vaccination certificate or official report from the tourist from their home country app, and the negative PCR result of the airport test sent via SMS.For more information about the Green Pass, please visit Visit Abu Dhabi.ae, ica.gov.ae with alhosnapp.ae.
