An Abu Dhabi court has directed a woman to return Dh453,000 that she borrowed from her husband. She refused to pay back the cash on the grounds that it was spousal support.

Official court documents say the Arab man has filed a lawsuit against his wife for Dh453,000 borrowed from her.

The man said in the lawsuit that he transferred the money in installments to his wife’s bank account, and the woman agreed to return it after three months.

Unfortunately, she has not returned the money despite repeated demands from her husband to keep her promise. The man said they did not sign an agreement on the deal because she was his wife.

The husband showed the court all the documents proving that he had transferred the money to his wife’s account.

Her woman admitted to taking the money, but she claims the man gave her it as spousal support, not a loan.

After hearing from all parties, the Abu Dhabi Family and Civil Administrative Cases Court ruled and ordered the woman to return her husband’s money. She was also told to pay his husband’s legal costs.
