Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism targets summer influx in GCC

DUBAI: The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi is advertising to potential tourists from the Gulf region looking for a summer getaway.

The government entity hosts events in key Gulf cities, launching SeaWorld Yas Island and experiencing ‘One Summer Is Not Enough’ in Abu Dhabi. The campaigns are done with 20 key partners including hotels and city attractions.

The roadshow offered GCC tourism industry professionals the opportunity to “learn more about the various attractions and experiences in Abu Dhabi” as well as new promotions. Yas Island SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will open on May 23.

“The GCC Roadshow will be an effective tool to promote the highly anticipated new SeaWorld Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi’s exciting summer offers,” said Abdulla Yousef, Director, Tourism Trade and Market Development, DCT Abu Dhabi.

“With ‘Kids Free’ and ‘Stay More, Pay Less’ offers, coupled with our location just a short flight away, we believe the UAE will be recognized for memorable summers for family and friends preferred destination vacation experience.”

Stay More, Pay Less offers travelers free nights when booking a four-night package, or two free nights when booking a seven-night package. In the ‘Kids Free’ offer, 73 hotels and three theme parks – Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi – children under 12 can stay for free under the package , meals and entry when accompanied by a paying adult.

For GCC tourists wishing to travel to Abu Dhabi, the flight frequency caters for any level of demand. Currently, there are routes to Abu Dhabi from:

  • Bahrain: 41 flights per week
  • Kuwait: 7 flights per week
  • Oman: 28 flights per week
  • Qatar: 46 flights per week
  • Saudi Arabia: 61 flights per week.
