Abu Dhabi’s Injazat signs preliminary agreement with Singapore’s trade technology agency

The move comes as the UAE and Singapore, the Arab world’s second-largest economy, seek to strengthen cooperation in the United Arab Emirates. technical field.

As part of the agreement, companies from both countries will collaborate on projects including smart city technology and digital transformation, the entities said on Monday.

Injazat has become the first international company to join the SGTech Association, which was previously exclusive to Singaporean companies.

SGTech represents more than 1,000 companies in Singapore, from start-ups to top multinationals.

“This partnership between UAE and Singapore SGTech will accelerate technological innovation in both countries and beyond,” said Jamal Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Singapore.

“It reflects the special and deep-rooted bilateral relationship between the Republic of Singapore and the UAE.”

The latest agreement comes as the UAE continues to boost its digital economy with new initiatives and plans.

Last year, the UAE launched Entrepreneurial country initiative, which aims to have 20 unicorns — or start-ups valued at $1 billion and above — in the country by 2031 and attract and expand small and medium-sized enterprises.

The UAE also offers incentives such as access to financing and simplified visa procedures to help tech companies move operations to the UAE, as NextGenFDI Initiative.

G42 is an Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence and cloud computing company backed by Mubadala Investments. In August, it said it was launching A $10 billion fund that will invest in emerging technologies in high-growth regions around the world to expand its portfolio.
