We couldn’t even stand there,” he said. Her cousin added: “I think she was hypoxic for 10 minutes at one time and 7 minutes at the other time. So her brainstem was almost 90% swollen.”

Bellani further explained the shocking scene when the crowd began to fall and trample on each other. He said: “Once a person falls, people begin to fall like dominoes. It’s like a sinkhole. People fall on top of each other. Go up. The ground looks like layers of corpses, thick like two people. We are trying to climb to the top of the mountain, breathing to stay alive.”
