In Chile, Governor Newsom has been putting pressure on the pen since he won the election for recall. On Friday, he signed a new ethnic research request into law.
Newsom signed, sealed, and submitted a bill requiring students to take ethnic studies courses required for graduation from high school.
“Ethnic studies courses enable students to learn their own stories-and the stories of their classmates,” Newsom said.

The law will apply to students graduating in 2030.
