According to reports, the Baton Rouge Metro Commission will revoke R. Kelly’s city key after a conviction in the sexual abuse trial

[ad_1]

Wow! For R. Kelly, it has been a long week, and it seems that things will not get better anytime soon. As we previously reported, R. Kelly was convicted of racketeering and human trafficking in Monday’s sexual abuse trial, and now there are reports that he will be deprived of the honor he received in 2013.

According to TMZ, R. Kelly will no longer be lucky enough to hold the keys to Baton Rouge. In February 2013, Denise Marcelle returned the key to Kelly. She told TMZ that she regretted giving him the key from the beginning. Despite the allegations against R. Kelly at the time, Marcelle said that the only thing she knew about his case was that he was excited in 2008.

According to reports, the Baton Rouge Metro Committee will deprive R. Kelly of his honor after the guilty verdict on Monday, but he will be able to keep the physical keys and plaques he received.

As we previously reported, after being convicted of racketeering and trafficking in a sexual abuse trial, R. Kelly was convicted on nine counts on Monday. During the trial, Kelly’s allegations of sexual assault and misconduct against minors intensified because several of Kelly’s plaintiffs testified against him during the trial.

Despite the conviction, Kelly’s defense attorney stated that Kelly was disappointed with the outcome of the trial and planned to appeal the verdict. R. Kelly also has the support of fans, as well as Bill Cosby, one of the biggest blacks in the entertainment industry.

According to a statement from Spokesperson for Cosby Andrew Wyatt, he thinks R. Kelly is “railway.” He also accused the lawyer Gloria Allred of making the public oppose R. Kelly, as she did for Bill during the trial.

“As he said, Gloria Allred did the same thing to him as she did,” Wyatt said. “You marched the women out to incite the public against him. That’s what they did to R. Kelly.”

R. Kelly will be sentenced on May 4, 2022. Before that, please contact us for all updates on this and more!
