The Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai today launched the #EnergiseMY social event, calling on the public to share their stories of change-no matter how big or small-they are working towards a more sustainable future.

Derived from the theme of the pavilion “inspiring sustainability”, this social media-friendly event highlights the efforts of change makers and is known as “energizers”-individuals or groups that make changes within their sphere of influence, whether in Social sphere, economy or environment.

The actions of these energizers can be anything, from donating clothes to those in need or reusing household items in the garden or building houses for local communities.

Social media activities are an extension of the pavilion #MyButterflyEffect activities, aiming to generate ripple effects through the exemplary actions taken by the Malaysia Pavilion at the World Expo. #MyButterflyEffect The ambassador of the event is His Highness Tunku Zain Abidin Tunku Muhriz.

“The intention behind #EnergiseMY is to inspire people to change their abilities, big or small, as the world moves towards building a more sustainable future,” said His Highness Tunku Zain Al-Abidin Tuanku Muhriz #EnergiseMY was launched at the Malaysia Pavilion today.

“This is basically what we designed for the Malaysia Pavilion branding campaign-#MyButterflyEffect-represents; our daily behavior is a small step in a larger movement leading to a better community and a better world,” he added .

His Highness Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin Ibni TuankuMuhriz also launched #EnergiseMY as the first Energiser. He is an outspoken advocate of sustainable growth efforts and the empowerment of local communities.

“Malaysians have always had a strong interest in great causes, but as we become more and more hopeful about the future after Covid, it is important to refocus our energy on awareness and progress during the pandemic. #EnergiseMY Provided This is an excellent opportunity to use and enhance this energy to achieve mutual benefit for all our communities,” he added.

Also attending the event Mr. Syed Ahmad Syed Mustafa, Chief Operating Officer, Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Center (MGTC) He quoted: “A larger purpose of our participation in Expo 2020 is to allow people-especially young people-to meaningfully participate in the dialogue on sustainable development. They are our future leaders and will inherit this planet. , We hope to do our part to inspire them.”

Malaysian singer and actress Sasha Saidin It’s another Energizer who started to change at home. She said: “Everything starts at home. By teaching my family to reduce, reuse and recycle, we hope to encourage others in the community to take their own steps towards a sustainable future. We consciously take some small things Efforts, such as garbage sorting and the use of reusable food containers and bags.”

Meaningful change is a shared responsibility and cannot be achieved alone. Everyone’s small steps can help achieve greater goals, and we can all start with something as simple as participating in a sustainable development dialogue to increase collective awareness.

Roundtable on the Cause of Mercy

To coincide with the inclusive and inclusive week of Expo 2020 Dubai, Tunku Zain was invited as one of the panelists to have a roundtable discussion on the theme of “compassionate business”. The knowledge exchange delved into the world’s strategy for bridging the disconnect between economic growth and people’s well-being.

Tunku Zain talked with other thought leaders from all over the world and shared how NGOs promote advocacy in the field of civil society, such as refugee welfare and environmental sustainability.
