In addition, they have shown a remarkable ability to adapt to local environmental conditions. Through continuous efforts, ADAFSA has successfully raised and produced queen bees, resulting in the eighth generation of bee varieties.
Mr Al Yamahi provided an update on the progress made in 2022, noting that more than 3,079 queen bees were produced that year. In addition, ADAFSA distributed more than 2,700 queen bees to 90 UAE beekeepers. The initiative aims to support beekeepers and boost honey production, while encouraging more breeders to actively contribute to the development and sustainability of this critical industry.

Furthermore, it plays a key role in training and accrediting Emirati experts to diagnose diseases and pests, helping beekeepers to spot problems within their apiaries. The laboratory also provides advice and technical guidance on effective control of these pests and diseases. The Authority is committed to developing comprehensive outreach programs and programs to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge to beekeepers in all areas of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
