ADFD delegation visits Abu Dhabi Shipyard to discuss strategic cooperation

Abu Dhabi – A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Development Fund (ADFD) and its export finance arm, Abu Dhabi Export Office (ADEX), visited the Abu Dhabi Shipyard (ADSB), part of EDGE, one of the world’s leading advanced technology groups Entities are used for defense and transcendence. The delegates discussed with ADSB officials the promotion of UAE companies and the competitiveness of UAE products in the global market with the support of ADFD.

HE Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund (ADFD) and Chairman of the Export Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi Export Office (ADEX), led the delegation, which included Rashid Al Kaabi, Director, Investment Department; Khalil, Acting Director General, Abu Dhabi Export Office Al Mansouri; and other officials. ADSB CEO David Massey received them; ADSB Finance Director Mariam Al Moosawi; and Ying. ADSB MRO Director Maktoom Al Shehhi.

Officials were briefed on the company’s leading facilities in the design, construction, maintenance and repair of a variety of warships and commercial vessels. His Excellency Al Suwaidi expressed his pride in the state of the art in shipbuilding in the UAE and stressed the importance of the meeting to strengthen strategic cooperation with one of the key national entities supporting our local economy.

Al Suwaidi said ADFD has established ADEX and launched a special programme to support the UAE’s private sector, with the aim of increasing the UAE’s exports globally and achieving the UAE’s strategic objective of economic diversification. He reiterated the fund’s ambition to support national companies under the EDGE Group, including ADSB, a leading organisation to strengthen the UAE as a global centre for future industries.

During his visit, Messi praised ADFD and said that ADSB is keen to forge strategic relationships with national financial institutions such as ADFD, which play an important role in promoting global sustainable development while supporting UAE companies and the national economy. He also described ADSB’s wide range of services, including end-to-end design and new construction of various vessels, as well as maintenance, system upgrades and conversions of vessels for military, commercial and luxury applications.

The collaboration between the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, Abu Dhabi Export Office and Abu Dhabi Shipyard helps to expand the scope of work for national companies, opening up new horizons for them and increasing exports to global markets.
